OYSTERS NAMED AS RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR AT INDUSTRY AWARDS

The ultimate stars of the Northern Ireland licensed, catering, tourism and hospitality industries have been revealed at the Molson Coors Licensed & Catering News (LCN) Awards hosted by television personality Roy Walker, at the Ramada Hotel, Belfast. 

Now in their second year, these important industry awards recognise entrepreneurial spirit, excellence and best practice in the hospitality industry. They are also the only awards in Northern Ireland to cover a broad spectrum of the hospitality industry.

Oysters Restaurant in Strabane was one of the evening’s top winners taking home the prestigious Award for Restaurant of the Year, sponsored by Flogas.

A diverse range of hospitality and tourism businesses, initiatives and individuals from across Northern Ireland picked up Awards at the Molson Coors Licensed & Catering News Awards 2010.

 

 

TYRONE COUNTRY STARS HELP LAUNCH LOCAL FOOD CAMPAIGN
The Good Food Circle and Flavour of Tyrone teamed up with Ireland’s Queen of Country music Philomena Begley and local radio star Malachi Cush to help launch another great food promotion aimed at rewarding their loyal customers.  Called The Good Food Circle Loyalty Card promotion it will start on 1st March and last until 30th June.

There are seven restaurants participating in the loyalty card promotion and these include; Café Latte, Cano’s Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant, Dine @ Dungannon Golf Club, Quinn’s Corner, Silverbirch Hotel, The Valley Hotel and Tullylagan Country House Hotel.

To take part all you have to do is choose a restaurant, pick up their loyalty card, choose a dish from their promotional menu, each promotional dish is worth a sticker (one sticker per person), collect 5 stickers, which will then entitle you to a free promotional dish at that restaurant.

LAUNCH OF FLAVOUR OF TYRONE VISITOR GUIDE
Visitors to the region will soon benefit from an all new visitor guide featuring
the best that Tyrone has to offer. The visitor guide has been produced by
Flavour of Tyrone and Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council and
was launched by the Mayor of Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council,
Cllr Robert Mulligan on Monday 8th February in Killymaddy Tourist Information
& Craft Centre.

FLAVOURS OF ITALY AT THE VALLEY HOTEL


On Friday 5 February, guests at the Valley Hotel, Fivemiletown experienced the true taste of
Italy in the Bordeaux Restaurant. The event included the Executive Chef, Paul Williamson and
his team preparing the finest Italian cuisine using locally sourced produce. This included
seasonal Northern Irish produce from Ulster’s local butchers, farmers market, and the finest
hand-made cheeses from the award winning Fivemiletown creamery.
