| A great bank holiday Monday
was had by all who attended the Dungannon 2007 Food and
Drink Festival at Dungannon Park. From fish to fudge and
from salads to steaks, all food groups were covered and
no - one went home hungry.
Local produce was in abundance with many stalls present
from the local farmer’s market and further afield.
The cookery demonstrations, with chefs including Noel
McMeel and Paula McIntyre, proved to be a popular attraction
with chefs opting to use the freshest of local produce
Tyrone had to offer.
Mayor expressed his delight at the success of the event:
‘It was great to see the crowds of people
who came from throughout the Borough of Dungannon &
South Tyrone and certainly further afield and the occasional
shower certainly didn’t dampen anyone’s
spirits.’
The Food and Drink festival was organised to mark the
400th anniversary of the Flight of the Earls as part of
the Dungannon 2007 - Be Part of It celebrations and was
part financed by the European Union through the Exploring
Diversity 07 & Beyond program managed for Special
EU Programmes Body by Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough
Council.
